Tara Wind Farm was proud to sponsor the fireworks at this year's Tara Festival of Culture and Camel Races, with the spectacular display lighting up the Western Downs and providing the perfect start to an incredible festival weekend. 

The three-day celebration attracted more than 15,000 visitors, offering a vibrant program of entertainment, including live music, markets and yabby racing. Held every two years, the community-led festival celebrates the rich diversity of the Tara region and is proudly organised by a local not-for-profit association.  

“The Festival Committee would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Tara Wind Farm for proudly sponsoring the Friday night fireworks display. ACE Fireworks, which has supported the event for 20 years, once again delivered a spectacular display that was enjoyed by a huge Friday night crowd,” a Tara Festival Committee spokesperson said. 

“Tara Wind Farm’s sponsorship helped make the event one to remember, and the funding contributed to the unique experience that keeps visitors returning to the Tara Festival.” 

As the event celebrates 25 years, it continues to generate significant economic, social, and cultural benefits, supporting local businesses, tourism, volunteers, and community organisations while fostering regional pride and inclusion. 

“Supporting the Tara Festival is an important part of our investment in the local community, helping sustain an iconic event that celebrates the region's culture, strengthens community connections and attracts visitors to Tara,” Tara Wind Farm, Project Director, Michael Perkins, said. 

“As the Project moves forward, we remain committed to supporting community organisations, local events and initiatives that help the Western Downs region thrive.”

Tara Wind Farm’s Community Grants and Sponsorships Program, provides funding for community-based organisations, initiatives and events.

Applications for the 2026 funding round have now closed, reflecting strong interest from community groups across Tara and the surrounding area.
