Working with the community

As Australia transitions its energy generation to renewable sources, Vestas is committed to working respectfully alongside the communities in which it operates.

Vestas believes effective engagement provides a unique opportunity for projects to benefit from local insights, work together with the community to address any concerns and build lasting and productive relationships that are key to a project’s long-term success.

Tara Wind Farm hosts community information sessions in Tara. These drop-in events allow us to share the latest Project information, engage with locals to gain a better understanding of what is important to them, and obtain feedback to help us shape the Project.

We value community and stakeholder input. Please continue to share your feedback with us by completing our Community Feedback Survey below.

Supporting the community

Community Grants and Sponsorship Program

The Community Grants and Sponsorship Program is now closed for 2026!

This year, Tara Wind Farm has provided more than $55,000 to community-based organisations, initiatives, and events in the Tara region through our Community Grants and Sponsorship Program.

Since launching in late 2024, we have invested $128,000 in local grants and sponsorships. Funding has been awarded through 28 grant applications, supporting 20 local organisations, including schools, sporting and recreation groups, community organisations, business associations, and community events. A number of these groups have received funding across consecutive years, reflecting both the ongoing benefit they provide to the community and our commitment to supporting meaningful local initiatives.
