Connecting with the Tara community: Latest drop-in sessions
November 2025
The Tara Wind Farm Project team recently held two community drop-in sessions in Tara, giving locals the chance to learn more about the Project and share their thoughts.
Our first session was on Friday 31 October outside Tara Foodworks, where 23 people stopped by. Jobs were the main topic of interest, followed by housing and the Project timeline. People also asked general questions about the wind farm size, number of turbines, and where they’ll be located. As it was Halloween, we enjoyed seeing families out trick-or-treating, and handed out lollies to the kids!
The second session was on Sunday 2 November at the Tara Markets at the Museum, attracting 36 visitors. Conversations focused on employment, transport routes, Project timeline, and how the wind farm is supporting the local community. We were pleased to hear comments such as “It’ll be great for the town” and “It’s the future.”
At both sessions, we provided Project fact sheets and Frequently Asked Questions, along with a map of the Project location, a board showing how the transport route stays outside of Tara township, and a summary of our Community Grants and Sponsorship Program.
Our merchandise was very popular, especially the stubby holders and bottle openers, alongside lip balms, fidget balls, and kids’ activity packs with coloured pencils.
Community engagement is an important part of the Project because it helps us hear directly from you about what matters most and how you feel about the development.
We look forward to continuing these conversations. If you have any questions, or require any information, please contact us anytime via email at info@tarawindfarm.com.au or by calling 1800 717 704.
